Volunteer Liability Waiver and Photo Release Agreement
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
By signing up and participating as a volunteer for events organized by the Pilipino Worker Center (PWC), (referred to as "Event Organizer"), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Voluntary Participation
I acknowledge that my participation as a volunteer is completely voluntary and that I am offering my time and services without expectation of financial compensation, employment benefits, or future employment from the Event Organizer.
2. Assumption of Risk & Liability Release
I understand that volunteer activities may involve physical exertion, lifting, standing for extended periods, exposure to outdoor weather elements, and interacting with large crowds.
I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with my participation.
I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Event Organizer, venue partners, city agencies, sponsors, directors, officers, employees, and fellow volunteers from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, or costs arising out of any personal injury, illness, property damage, or loss sustained by me during or as a result of my volunteer service.
3. Medical Emergency Authorization
In the event of an injury or medical emergency while volunteering, I authorize the Event Organizers to secure necessary emergency medical treatment or transportation on my behalf. I understand that I am solely responsible for any costs incurred for medical care.
4. Photo, Video, and Media Release
I hereby grant the Event Organizer the absolute and irrevocable right to take, record, edit, publish, and distribute photographs, video footage, audio recordings, and digital media of me captured during the event.
I agree that these materials may be used for promotional, educational, archival, social media, press release, and organizational marketing purposes across print and digital channels.
I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished media products and acknowledge that I will receive no monetary compensation or royalties for their use.
5. Code of Conduct & Safety Protocols
I agree to follow all directions provided by event leaders, site coordinators, and safety staff. I pledge to treat all attendees, performers, vendors, and staff with respect, dignity, and care. I understand that failure to follow safety guidelines or event policies may result in the immediate termination of my volunteer shift.
6. Minor Volunteer Consent (If Applicable)
If the volunteer is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must review and consent to this agreement on their behalf, assuming all associated responsibilities and liabilities.
